UBB was established in 1992 through the merger of 22 Bulgarian regional commercial banks. After the acquisition of UBB by the Belgian group KBC, the bank received the highest credit rating in Bulgaria by Fitch – ‘A-‘, which is higher than that of Bulgaria. Thanks to its well-developed distribution network, UBB has branches throughout the country.
