In many research labs around the world, scientists are still taking notes from experiments on paper, transferring data from one instrument to another, inventorying their samples manually, and losing track at critical moments.

This is not a lack of desire for change. Existing LIMS/ELN systems are either too versatile to meet the specific needs of every laboratory or are too expensive and complex. Small and medium biotech companies have no real alternative.
