Role Overview:

The DevOps Expert (Software Development Focus) will lead the implementation of DevOps practices, ensuring that development and operations work together to create and deploy high-quality software quickly and efficiently. Embedded within a development team, this role also plays a key part in supporting Agile transformation by contributing to tooling, practices, and processes that enable iterative delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in CI/CD pipelines, platform automation, and internal infrastructure (including Kubernetes), while promoting collaboration and continuous improvement across disciplines.

Your responsibilities will be:

CI/CD Pipeline Design & Management

• Design, implement, and maintain efficient continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Automate the software development lifecycle to ensure fast, reliable delivery.
• Integrate testing, quality checks, and performance monitoring into the CI/CD process.

Infrastructure Automation & Management

• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Pulumi, or other relevant platforms.
• Maintain consistent, scalable development environments across the lifecycle (dev, staging, production).
• Manage internal Kubernetes clusters and optimize environments for performance and scalability.

Agile Delivery Enablement

• Support development teams in adopting DevOps practices that align with Agile delivery (e.g., trunk-based development, release on demand).
• Contribute to internal developer platforms and self-service models for deployment and testing.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the delivery pipeline to enable faster feedback loops.
• Promote continuous improvement through experimentation, tooling evolution, and iterative delivery practices.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with developers, QA, architecture, and operations to enhance collaboration and flow.
• Act as a bridge across functions, enabling alignment between development and operations goals.
• Contribute to internal enablement efforts and knowledge-sharing practices.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Implement monitoring and logging solutions for reliability and observability.
• Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and runtime issues.
• Support incident response and continuous improvement of system resilience.

Security & Compliance

• Apply security best practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate security checks (e.g., static analysis, vulnerability scanning) into the pipeline.
• Ensure systems align with internal compliance and governance standards.

We expect from you:

• DevOps & Automation: Proven experience applying DevOps practices in software development environments, with a focus on streamlining delivery through automation and continuous improvement.
• CI/CD & Version Control: Proficient in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Git, enabling fast, reliable software delivery.
• Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management: Hands-on expertise with IaC and configuration tools like Ansible and Pulumi for managing infrastructure in a scalable and reproducible manner.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Skilled in deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes, with experience working on internal cluster setups and microservices architecture.
• Scripting & Tooling: Strong scripting abilities in Bash and Python to automate workflows and integrate systems across the toolchain.
• Agile Collaboration: Familiar with Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban, and experienced in working within cross-functional teams that deliver iteratively and collaboratively.
