About Trusti.bg
Trusti.bg helps people in Bulgaria discover, compare, and manage insurance online with clarity and confidence. We’re a lean, product-led team that ships fast, learns faster, and measures everything. Design isn’t a service here—it’s the engine.
Why this role exists?
There’s a new breed of designer who blends product sense, systems thinking, and the ability to build. With AI filling gaps that used to slow individuals down, a single Principal Product Designer can identify strategic opportunities, prototype end‑to‑end, and roll out experiments quickly. That’s exactly what we need.
We run weekly, vibe‑coded demos and hold ourselves to a simple standard: what’s the value and how do we know? If you spend a big chunk of your free time building with new tools, testing ideas, and automating the boring bits—you’ll feel at home.
Outcomes you’ll own 6-12 Months
Experiment velocity: Ship value‑tested experiments weekly across funnels (e.g., MTPL validity check, Trusti renewal, referral loops) with clear hypothesis → metric moves → decision.
Conversion & trust: Lift quote‑to‑bind, renewal uptake, and NPS while reducing cost‑to‑serve via UX, copy, and flow simplifications.
Systemization: Evolve a robust design system (tokens, Figma variables, component libraries) with clean handoff to code; reduce design & dev cycle time.
0→1 bets: Discover, prototype, and launch new product surfaces that create moats in our market (e.g., proactive renewal checks, smart notifications, self‑service policy changes).
What you’ll do:
Discover
Frame problems, define crisp hypotheses, pick success metrics, and map constraints.
Partner with ops, growth, and engineering to turn messy user needs into testable opportunities.
Design & build
Move from low‑fi flows to production‑ready prototypes rapidly (Figma → code/Framer/Next.js as needed).
Use AI‑native workflows (Cursor/agents) to scaffold UI, generate variants, wire APIs, and automate analysis.
Author clear microcopy and run lightweight UX writing tests.
Measure & iterate
Instrument experiments (GA4/Amplitude), run A/Bs, analyze lift, and decide to scale/kill.
Maintain dashboards for key product KPIs; socialize learnings in weekly demos.
Systemize
Build and maintain design tokens, accessibility baselines, and cross‑platform components.
Create pragmatic documentation (when/why to use a pattern, not just how).
Collaborate
Pair tightly with engineers on feasibility and performance.
Coach teammates on experiment design, metrics, and UX craft without becoming a gatekeeper.
You might be a fit if you..
Technical. You can prototype in Figma. You treat AI tools (Cursor, code copilots, evals) as leverage, not magic.
Creative. You turn constraints into elegant flows and sharp interfaces. You enjoy naming, microcopy, and visual polish—but never at the expense of clarity.
Curious. You run small tests for fun, reverse‑engineer good products, and keep a bench of side projects.
Must haves
6+ years in product design with system design and shipping in your portfolio.
Fluency in Figma (Auto‑layout, variables, tokens, components, libraries).
Comfort jumping to code or high‑fidelity prototyping tools when needed.
Evidence of experiments that moved metrics—show the baseline, the change, and the decision.
Strong grasp of accessibility (WCAG) and performance implications.
Working English; Bulgarian a plus.
Nice-to-haves
Fintech/insurance experience or other complex, regulated domains.
Analytics chops: GA4/Amplitude, event schemas, funnels, and cohort analysis; SQL basics.
Experience with CRM/marketing automation (e.g., Braze/Customer.io) and growth loops.
How we work
Weekly vibe‑coded demos: short, narrative‑first updates—what we tried, what we learned, what’s next.
Small bets: 1–2‑week cycles; default to experiment, not debate.
Source of truth: clear docs, dashboards, and component libraries.
Hiring process
Intro call (30 min): Your work style, what you’re exploring, and what great looks like to you.
Portfolio deep‑dive (60 min): Two projects: problem framing → tradeoffs → outcomes.
Design‑and‑build session (90 min): Pair in Cursor/Figma on a Trusti flow; ship a testable artifact.
Team loop (60 min): Product & engineering collaboration interview.
What to include in your application
Portfolio or case studies that show systems + outcomes.
Links to repos, Framer prototypes, or anything you’ve built on your own (weekend hacks welcome).
A short note on a product you improved with AI‑assisted workflows (what, how, metrics).
Benefits and details
Competitive compensation and meaningful ownership (details in offer stage).
Remote‑first within Bulgaria; optional Sofia co-working.
Learning budget, health insurance, and time off.
