We are looking for a Platform Engineer – FinOps to take a key role in designing, optimising, and governing cloud and hybrid infrastructure costs within a Microsoft-centric enterprise environment.
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud economics, and DevOps, with real ownership over cost visibility, optimisation strategies, and FinOps enablement across engineering teams.
Your Impact
Design and embed FinOps practices into Azure platform engineering and DevOps workflows.
Drive cost visibility, forecasting, and optimisation across Azure subscriptions and landing zones.
Integrate FinOps tooling into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub) and IaC (Bicep / Terraform).
Enable engineering teams to make cost-aware architecture and delivery decisions.
Influence governance, policies, and spending guardrails to maximise ROI.
Workload efficiency using Azure Advisor and Well-Architected Framework (Cost pillar).
Cost dashboards and reporting using Power BI, Azure Monitor.
Governance using Azure Policy, RBAC, Management Groups.
Collaboration with Procurement and Vendor Management on EA / MCA billing and MACC commitments.
Hybrid and on-prem cost management, including showback / chargeback models.
What We’re Looking For
Hands-on experience implementing FinOps in Azure environments.
Strong understanding of Azure Cost Management, Pricing, and optimisation techniques.
Experience embedding FinOps into platform engineering and DevOps practices.
Practical knowledge of financial modelling, forecasting, and ROI-driven optimisation.
Ability to collaborate with engineers, product owners, and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with Managed Service Providers or FinOps tooling vendors.
FinOps Certified Practitioner (or working towards it).
Nice to Have
Experience with hybrid / on-prem infrastructure cost management.
Strong Power BI reporting skills.
Exposure to enterprise-scale Azure environments and governance frameworks.
Familiarity with Azure Well-Architected Framework – Cost Optimisation pillar.
