We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join a team supporting mission-critical systems in a cloud-focused environment. The role is primarily focused on Microsoft SQL Server in Azure, with additional exposure to PostgreSQL and Snowflake. You will play a key role in ensuring database performance, security, and cost efficiency, while contributing to strategic cloud and migration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimise databases across cloud and on-prem environments
• Monitor and improve performance through tuning, indexing, and configuration
• Design and manage backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions
• Optimise storage usage and reduce infrastructure and licensing costs
• Support cloud optimisation initiatives (IaaS to PaaS transitions)
• Implement security, access control, and compliance standards (SOC, ISO, GDPR)
• Automate DBA tasks using PowerShell and SQL Server tools
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams and maintain documentation

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA in production environments
• Strong expertise in performance tuning, monitoring, and storage optimisation
• Experience with Azure (IaaS & PaaS)
• 2+ years working with PostgreSQL and/or Snowflake
• PowerShell scripting experience
• Very good English and ability to work independently

Nice to have:

• Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Zabbix)
• Relevant certifications
• Experience with Octopus Deploy
