Senior QA Automation Engineer

Your Role

As our new Senior Automation QA Engineer, you’ll be the technical trail-blazer who designs and builds a brand-new Python-powered test-automation framework from scratch. Your work will safeguard the quality of our rapidly growing ecosystem of IoT devices and cloud services, speed up release cycles, and give millions of users the flawless “it just works” experience they expect from Shelly. You’ll collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams, turning test coverage into a competitive advantage.

What makes you a great fit

• Expert in Python & Pytest with 3 + years of hands-on automation experience
• Proven track record of building automation frameworks from the ground up
• API-first mindset — comfortable crafting contract and protocol tests (REST, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Matter, etc.)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how tests slot seamlessly into them
• Experience (or serious curiosity) in IoT or embedded environments is a bonus
• Clear communicator who can mentor peers and champion best practices

Your Responsibilities

• Architect and implement Shelly’s next-gen automation testing framework (Python + Pytest)
• Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop reliable, scalable API and protocol test suites for hardware and cloud services
• Enable local test execution with rich, traceable logging for quick root-cause analysis
• Define and document modular, reusable test patterns to keep maintenance low and coverage high
• Partner with developers to embed quality checks
