Product Owner- Firmware Platform
Your Role
As our Product Owner in Firmware you will take ownership of platform-wide Shelly firmware features, acting as the main point of contact between adjacent teams: firmware developers, product owners, QA, Front-End, Back- End, Technical Support, Technical Documentation, Integrations and Marketing.
The role combines technical understanding with strong coordination skills to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of firmware features.
What makes you a great fit:
• Strong understanding of principles and latest technical trends in IoT and automation
• Experience with embedded systems, SDLC, version control, CI/CD and release management will be considered as an advantage.
• Ability to create concise documentation with varying level of technical detail
• Experience in cross-team development
• Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and align differing priorities
• Clear and persuasive communication across technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills to drive consensus
• Effective prioritization and decision-making under time and resource constraints
Your Responsibilities:
• Determine and document feature scope and behavior with stakeholders
• Keep track of change requests, advancements and blockers and inform affected parties in a timely manner
• Ensure alignment between involved teams on timelines and priorities
• Acquire expert understanding of firmware capabilities, constraints and integrations within the Shelly ecosystem
• Coordinate testing and validation with QA to ensure firmware meets acceptance criteria
• Monitor post-release feedback, improvement possibilities and defect reports
• Catalyze decision making and issue resolution
Deliverables:
• Technical feature specification and requirements for dev teams
• Organized and annotated kickoff, recurring sync and retrospective meetings
• Issue tracker entries (epics, tasks, milestones) for all work items
• Accurate feature documentation that serves as basis for development of user guides, manuals, etc.
• Onboarding sessions, workshops and trainings.
