Due to growth and expansion, an opportunity has become available for a Backend Engineering Lead. In this position, you’ll lead a team and participate in design reviews, recommend improvements, and work with the teams to develop, deliver, and maintain platform improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in PHP with experience using relevant libraries and frameworks.
Scalability and Performance Optimization: Experience developing large-scale systems to handle high volumes of user interactions.
System Architecture: Experience in designing and architecting scalable, modular, and maintainable systems.
Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and driving the team toward project goals. Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
Defining, interpreting, and developing software to written requirements and technical specifications
Write clean, well-designed code, following coding standards and best practices
Working with globally distributed and multi-disciplinary teams
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
8+ years experience as a Backend Engineer with a minimum of 3+ years experience in a technical leadership role
Proven team management and leadership skills
Experience with PHP is required
Experience with OOP concepts and SOLID principles
Experience with Unit and Integration testing
Experience with design patterns
A good understanding of building and operating cloud-based microservices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
The Interview Process:
Online interview with the Senior Talent Partner and an Engineering Manager. This should last no longer than 40 minutes.
Final video interview of 90 minutes will consist of 3 stages. This includes: 60 minutes to discuss your experience and technical abilities; 20 minutes to review and discuss a coding exercise; 10 minutes to ask questions you may have
