About the Role📱

As a Backend Software Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services primarily using PHP and the Laravel framework. You will collaborate closely with mobile, front-end, design, and QA teams to ensure our backend systems are secure, performant, and reliable. You will work on challenges involving thousands of concurrent users and may also contribute to DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

Your Responsibilities 🔎

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP and Laravel
• Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code with unit and integration tests (e.g., PHPUnit, Pest)
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the application lifecycle
• Ensure backend systems are performant, scalable, reliable, and responsive
• Maintain and optimize systems designed for high concurrency (thousands of simultaneous users)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and system infrastructure automation (DevOps)
• Translate requirements and technical specs into actionable development tasks within Scrum
• Implement security best practices and proactively address vulnerabilities
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and team discussions
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams as needed
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use

Required Skills & Experience ​​👩🏻‍💻

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer with strong proficiency in PHP (8.x+)
• Deep knowledge of the Laravel framework and its core components (Eloquent, Queues, Events, etc.)
• Solid understanding of SQL, database design, and hands-on experience with MySQL
• Proficiency with Git and common version control workflows
• Experience designing, building, consuming, and documenting RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of JSON data format
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Pest)
• Familiarity with Linux command line and basic Bash scripting
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda)
• Working knowledge of Docker and containerization concepts

Good to Know 🌟​​​​​​​

• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of ElasticSearch
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB)
• Understanding of message queuing systems (AWS SQS, RabbitMQ)
• Exposure to GraphQL
• Experience with JavaScript or Python
• Experience working in microservice architectures
• Familiarity with CSS, CSS preprocessors, or front-end template engines
