The Opportunity

DevOps Engineer – Advanced role collaborating with software engineering teams to deploy and manage development environments and systems. You’ll automate and optimize company operations, build and maintain deployment/monitoring tools, and troubleshoot issues across development, testing and production environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Extensive Amazon Web Services expertise including CloudFormation templates for custom Java applications

Strong Linux/Unix administration background

Hands-on experience with automation/configuration management (Puppet, Chef or equivalent)

Proficiency with diverse open source technologies and cloud services

Oracle database experience

Working knowledge of coding/scripting (PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby)

Understanding of best practices for always-up, high-availability services

Outstanding problem-solving abilities with ownership mindset

Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Technical Stack:

Networking: Firewalls, VPNs, proxies, load balancers

Web/Application servers: Apache, Tomcat, JVM environments

Storage technologies: NFS, SANs, RAID, lvm

Version control: SVN, Git administration

Monitoring/Logging: LogRobot, Graphite, LogicMonitor, ELK Stack (advantage)

Tools: Atlassian Suite (Confluence, JIRA) is a plus
