About the role 

We’re partnering with a leading client in the iGaming industry to find a skilled Data Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, data-heavy environment. If you have a solid understanding of gambling platforms, a passion for scalable systems, and enjoy collaborating across teams to drive innovation — this role could be your next big move.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine data structures and schemas to support scalable, high-performance data systems.
• Enhance new and existing data sources, ensuring quality, consistency, and integrity across all storage and processing layers.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to support feature engineering and data modeling for machine learning workflows.
• Build and optimize data solutions, including real-time data streaming and high-throughput analytical databases, adapting storage strategies as needed.
• Implement and enforce best practices for data management, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks or failures.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously evolve the data infrastructure.
• Maintain thorough documentation of systems, processes, and code to enable reproducibility and effective knowledge sharing.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a track record of managing data streams and relational databases
• Expertise with data streaming platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ (a must)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred)
• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python; experience with Java or Scala is a plus
• Proficiency in working with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar systems
• Deep understanding of data architecture, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing principles
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google Bigtable, Snowflake)
• Familiarity with machine learning and data science workflows
