Job Description

Quickbase is looking for an experienced Backend engineer who will design, enhance and develop our core backend services that handle billions of requests for our no code platform. In this capacity, you will be working on a team responsible for scalability, performance, modernization and optimizing them for the cloud.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to:

• Work independently as well as cross functionally with Product Mangers, Architects, and other stakeholders to break down complex problems into defined prioritized tasks
• Drive end to end implementation within the team to deliver high quality and maintainable production code
• Mentor and guide Engineers, providing technical expertise, and constructive feedback to maintain high coding standards
• Actively identify opportunities for system optimization, performance improvements, and code refactoring, ensuring the scalability and robustness of the product
• Communicate technical concepts to your colleagues as well as non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience with backend technologies and system designs (C/C++, C#, Java, Node.js/Typescript, Python)
• C++ is a strong advantage
• Deep knowledge and experience with asynchronous programming paradigms
• Experience with cloud technologies (hosting, cloud services, containerisation etc.)
• Experience working with heterogeneous systems and technologies
• Experience with RPC communications like REST/gRPC/Thrift etc.
• Experience with CI/CD scripting and deployment of artefacts is a plus
• Demonstrates curiosity and assertive ownership. Proactively questioning existing implementations, identifying inefficiencies, and confidently driving improvements to production systems.
• Excellent communicator who enjoys helping others. Comfortable providing guidance, reviewing designs, and supporting engineers seeking technical help
