Senior IT Project Manager – MES Implementation

Our client is a leading international manufacturing company headquartered in Sofia. This is a permanent, high-impact role with long-term growth potential. Following the successful go-live of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) – expected within 18 months – the Project Manager will continue to lead strategic digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

The position: Senior IT Project Manager – MES Implementation

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead end-to-end project management of the MES implementation, from planning to go-live and stabilization.
•    Collaborate with internal teams (IT, Productions, Planning, Quality, etc.) and external partners (MES vendor, system integrators).
•    Manage project scope, timeline, risks, budget, and communications.
•    Ensure project milestones and KPIs are met.
•    Facilitate change management and user adoption across departments.
•    Prepare reports and updates for stakeholders and executive management.
•    Plan and ensure a smooth transition and future post-go-live IT initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
•    Proven experience (7+ years) managing IT or MES/digital transformation projects in manufacturing environments.
•    Solid knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PMP, PRINCE 2, or hybrid).
•    PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
•    Experience working with MES or shop floor systems is a strong plus.
•    Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
•    Fluent in English.

Nice to Have:
•    Familiarity with manufacturing processes and integration with ERP systems.
•    Previous work with MES solutions such as GE Vernova, Dassault, Critical Manufacturing, or Siemens Opcenter.
•    Experience working with external system integrators or vendor management.
•    Change management or Lean/Six Sigma exposure.
