As a UI/UX Design Lead, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining a scalable design system that supports our cloud-based payment platform. You’ll lead a growing team, drive user-centric design practices, and ensure consistency and efficiency across multiple products.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of UI/UX designers focused on delivering a scalable, cloud-based platform
Oversee the creation and evolution of a unified design system for efficiency, accessibility, and reduced design/tech debt
Serve as the bridge between design and development teams to ensure scalable, shared component use
Set the vision for design assets (wireframes, prototypes, mockups) and drive adoption of design standards
Align with engineering on feasibility, timelines, and implementation support
Lead user research across products to guide design strategy and define user flows
Monitor key KPIs: system adoption, accessibility, design duplication, stakeholder satisfaction
Drive structured design workflows and decision-making processes that improve agility and team collaboration
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree is a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience in a UI/UX role within an agile environment
Prior experience managing or mentoring designers is preferred
Work location: Based in Sofia with regular office presence required to support local team leadership
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and accessibility standards
High proficiency in Figma; experience with tools like Storybook, Zeroheight, Jira is a plus
Experience working within and contributing to design systems
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and SASS; understanding of React is a strong advantage
Able to align with front-end development needs and guide team integration with development
Strong knowledge of responsive design and cross-platform usability
Comfortable working in global, remote-first teams and virtual collaboration tools
Strong leadership and prioritization skills
Ability to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Problem-solving mindset with strong collaboration abilities
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
