Product Manager (Data Platform)

Our international IT Hub in Sofia, Bulgaria, is growing, and we’re looking for talented individuals to join us in the Product Manager (Data Platform) position. You’ll be part of an international team, working in a vibrant environment that encourages the exchange of knowledge and ideas both onsite and offsite.

The role will take ownership of our central data platform – AVALON – and lead its continued evolution as the foundation for data-driven decision-making across the PHOENIX Group.

AVALON serves as the central data hub for reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives, enabling critical business insights in areas such as logistics, pricing, procurement, and customer engagement. As part of our broader data and AI ecosystem, it supports the development and scaling of use cases across business domains.

Your Responsibilities:

• Own and continuously evolve the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AVALON.
• Translate business needs into actionable initiatives, balancing long-term goals with operational realities.
• Manage the full product lifecycle – from demand intake and prioritization to delivery and value realization.
• Ensure the platform’s performance, scalability, and data availability while maintaining compliance (e.g., GDPR).
• Drive the transition from legacy on-premise solutions to a scalable, cloud-native architecture based on Microsoft Azure.

Your Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing complex data or tech products.
• Strategic thinker with a customer-first mindset and a bias for execution.
• Strong background in product management or product ownership, ideally in data platform or BI contexts.
• Experience working in agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban), with the ability to manage backlogs, epics, and user stories.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills – capable of translating business needs into technical priorities and vice versa.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and modern data technologies (especially Microsoft Azure, including Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Fabric, Power BI).
• Familiarity with compliance and data governance, particularly in regulated industries and GDPR environments.
• University degree in Business Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fluency in English.
