This Solution Architect position is within the team working on Graphwise’s highly specialized solutions, built on top of the company’s products to deliver state of the art AI functionality and business value to our clients.

About the Role

As a Solution Architect at Graphwise, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering innovative semantic technology solutions for our clients. You’ll be responsible for translating business strategies into technical visions, leading the architectural design process from concept to implementation, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll create architectural artifacts using modern approaches, guide technical decisions, and actively contribute to the codebase while mentoring team members.

The role requires balancing technical excellence with business pragmatism, as you’ll be collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure solutions align with both client needs and Graphwise’s semantic technology expertise. You’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies, including foundational LLMs, LangChain, facilitating structured and unstructured data processing technology, while helping shape the technical direction of complex enterprise projects.

This hands-on role combines technical leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence without authority, making it ideal for architects who enjoy being deeply involved in both high-level design and practical implementation.

Your Main Responsibilities:

Lead the architectural design process for client solutions, from initial vision through implementation, creating clear and actionable architectural artifacts using modern approaches (like C4 or Arc42 modeling)

Translate business requirements into technical strategies, making pragmatic architectural decisions that balance client needs, technical excellence, and long-term maintainability

Actively participate in development teams – writing code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring team members while ensuring the implementation aligns with the architectural vision

Design and document system architecture across multiple views (context, container, component, deployment), ensuring clear communication of design decisions and their rationale to all stakeholders

Evaluate and manage technical risks, quality attributes, and technical debt throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they are properly documented and addressed

Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, establish architectural approaches, and build consensus around technical decisions through effective communication and influence

Guide the adoption and implementation of AI and semantic technologies within client solutions, ensuring best practices and patterns are followed

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

5+ years of experience in software development with proven expertise in the Java (Spring Boot, Maven, JUnit) and/or Python (NumPy, PyTorch, spaCy/Haystack) ecosystems, utilizing microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (we’re primarily working with AWS and Azure)

Experience with modern development practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code

Proven track record of working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), including experience in breaking down complex architectural decisions into manageable, iterative deliverables

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, write clear documentation, and present to both technical and business stakeholders

Strong collaboration and influencing skills, including experience in mentoring developers and building consensus across distributed teams

ML knowledge and practical MLOps experience is a big plus

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree is a plus

Background in semantic technologies (RDF, SPARQL, OWL) and graph databases is a plus
