Cloud Database Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud databaseEngineer to join one of our teams – Bluebeam.

Our dedicated Bluebeam team develops award-winning PDF solutions trusted by 4 million users in architecture, engineering, and construction. The team builds industry-standard software for project collaboration, document markup, and workflow automation, serving AEC professionals and government agencies worldwide.

YOUR DAILY CHALLENGES

• Design and implement cloud-native database solutions using AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and PostgreSQL;
• Develop database-centric automation using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python, PowerShell);
• Review database and infrastructure components for automation opportunities, eliminating manual processes and supporting cloud platform initiatives;
• Identify inefficiencies in current database implementations and collaborate with teams to plan and remediate improvements;
• Serve as a subject matter expert working with Engineering and DevOps teams to promote cloud database best practices and security standards;
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decision-making for the unified cloud platform, including time estimation and technical analysis;
• Lead migration efforts from legacy systems to cloud-native database solutions with focus on scalability, security, and disaster recovery.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

• 6+ years of professional experience with cloud databases and infrastructure;
• Deep expertise with AWS cloud-native database solutions: Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and PostgreSQL (primary focus);
• Strong experience with AWS services and architecture for building scalable database solutions;
• Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python and PowerShell;
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation and Terraform;
• Experience planning, implementing, and supporting highly scalable and highly secure database platforms;
• DevOps mindset with focus on source control, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and disaster recovery;
• Strong communication skills and ability to serve as a technical subject matter expert;
• Excellent English proficiency (written and verbal).

CONSIDERED A PLUS

• Experience with data lake/warehouse solutions and best practices (e.g., Redshift, Athena, Snowflake);
• Experience with database performance tuning and query optimisation;
• Experience with database migration tools (AWS DMS, native replication).
