    About Lab Thread
Lab Thread is a fast-growing Biotech B2B SaaS company on a mission to end “lab chaos.” Our story began with the frustration at inefficient laboratory processes and scattered research data, leading us to build a platform that makes digital lab work easier than paper. We are an agile team of experts driven by a culture of autonomy and meritocracy, united by a common goal: to transform the Life Sciences industry.

    The Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to serve as the critical infrastructure owner for our LIMS/ELN platform. This is not a job about chasing tickets; it’s about embedding quality and automation into the entire development lifecycle. You will architect, optimize, and secure our cloud environment on Azure, ensuring maximum scalability and reliability for scientists worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    • CI/CD Pipeline Ownership: Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines) for zero-downtime deployment, testing, and rollback.
    • Database Reliability: Automate MSSQL setup and configuration, including scripting for high availability (HA), log shipping, and performance scaling.
    • Process Modernization: Analyze legacy practices and automate manual installation and upgrade processes across Windows environments.
    • Cloud Optimization: Drive initiatives for Cloud Cost Optimization, performance scaling, and maintaining robust system security across the platform.
    • Monitoring & SRE: Implement and integrate comprehensive monitoring, logging, and health checks to proactively diagnose and ensure system stability.
    • Infrastructure Automation (IaC): Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions (Terraform/Bicep) for resilient provisioning and management on Azure.

    Your Background (Requirements)

    • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or infrastructure automation roles.
    • Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
    • Database Automation: Proven knowledge of MSSQL automation, scripting for setup, and High Availability solutions.
    • Automation Tools: Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Bash, and experience with IaC tools.
    • Practices: Strong foundation in CI/CD processes, version control (Git), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
    • Soft Skills: Excellent collaboration skills and a strong ability to adapt quickly to new, complex technical challenges.

    Additionally, a plus will be:

    • Containerization: Experience with Docker and managing containerized applications.
    • Monitoring Stack: Familiarity with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana).
    • Code Familiarity: Basic coding skills in .NET or NodeJS/NextJS to collaborate effectively with developers.
    • Tech Depth: Experience with system networking, load balancing, or SRE principles.

    What We Offer
A competitive salary and a clear path for professional growth, including the possibility of options plan.
The chance to solve hard technical problems that directly support life-saving scientific research.
A collaborative and transparent work environment that values high ownership and autonomy.
Flexible working hours and a hybrid work model.

Ready to help us build the future of lab data management?
If you are a DevOps Engineer who is driven by automation, stability challenges, and wants to make a real difference in the world of science, we’d love to hear from you.
