WS is a dedicated department within ICT Strypes focused on web solutions development. Built around exceptional individuals, the end-to-end software solutions we delivered won the trust of multiple international enterprises.

Highly skilled developers, proven organizational processes, and strong domain expertise have allowed the department to be entrusted with delivering application solutions covering the entire cycle of complex diagnostics and customer support on a global scale.

Job Description

We are looking for creative thinkers and problem-solvers to design new and innovative solutions using the latest technologies available.

Responsibilities:

• Development and application of mathematical optimization methods to solve complex scheduling problems, e.g. through heuristics, metaheuristics (e.g. genetic algorithms, local search), model-based methods or reinforcement learning in the context of (automated) container terminals
• Development, configuration and support of software solutions based on the developed optimisation methods
• Support of the entire development process from requirements recording to modelling and implementation to deployment
• Conducting code reviews and creating/maintaining technical documentation

Requirements

Required:

• 5+ years of experience with data science, data engineering, or similar;
• 5+ years of experience working with Python;
• Experience with optimization methods such as metaheuristics (genetic algorithms, taboo search, variable neighborhood search), linear / mixed-integer programming (e.g. with Gurobi, CPLEX);
• Strong analytical skills, structured way of working and good communication skills;
• Very good level of English;
• Completed studies in mathematics, computer science, physics, business informatics, statistics or a comparable course of study ideally with a focus on mathematical optimization, operations research or data science.

Advantages:

• Experience with AWS services;
• Experience in (container) logistics or comparable industrial application contexts;
• Good level of German.
