We’re seeking a Technical Project Manager to partner with one of our long-standing agency clients, a leader in crafting impactful digital experiences for mission-driven organizations. This role is perfect for someone who excels in navigating client relationships, technical delivery, and continuous improvement cycles, particularly within the WordPress and Drupal ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
Client Partnership & Oversight:
Act as the key liaison between the client and development teams, joining weekly stakeholder meetings to align on priorities, clarify requirements, and communicate technical implications clearly and confidently.
Technical Ticket Management:
Assist in defining and refining development tickets related to site updates, maintenance, and minor enhancements. Ensure each task is technically sound, fully scoped, and aligned with project objectives.
Quality Assurance & Development Coordination:
Oversee the quality of WordPress/Drupal development work delivered by nearshore teams. Promote adherence to industry best practices and client-specific coding standards, ensuring a high bar for technical excellence.
Support Governance & Reporting:
Track progress across Jira and time-logging tools, providing structured reports and insights to internal and client teams. Lead weekly internal calls with Delivery Leads to surface blockers, review progress, and align roadmaps.
Security & Continuous Improvement:
Ensure security patches and proactive site maintenance tasks are implemented efficiently and with minimal client disruption. Collaborate closely with developers to plan for iterative site enhancements.
Skills and Qualifications
Must-Have Experience:
Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager.
Strong background working with WordPress and/or Drupal projects in a support and maintenance context.
Ability to translate client requests into actionable technical tasks and prioritize them effectively within Agile workflows (e.g., Jira).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience leading client-facing meetings and status reviews.
Strong understanding of CMS security protocols and best practices for patching and maintenance.
Familiarity with time-and-materials billing models and time-tracking systems.
Availability to work within UK business hours.
Preferred:
Experience coordinating distributed or nearshore development teams.
Background in not-for-profit or public sector web engagements.
Basic familiarity with performance optimization and web accessibility principles.
