DevOps Engineer (AWS and GCP)

We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer (Cloud Migration Specialist) to join one of our leading partners in the technology sector. This role is perfect for an engineer with hands-on experience in both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), who is excited by the challenge of leading a large-scale cloud migration while building scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized infrastructure on AWS.

What You’ll Do:

Cloud Migration & Architecture

• Design, plan, and execute the migration of applications, data, and infrastructure from GCP to AWS.
• Translate existing GCP architectures into optimized AWS solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to refactor applications for AWS compatibility and best practices.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (primarily Terraform) to provision and manage AWS environments.
• Ensure infrastructure code is reusable, consistent, and version-controlled.

CI/CD & Automation

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild).
• Automate builds, testing, and deployments to streamline delivery during and after migration.

Containers & Orchestration

• Manage Docker-based applications and orchestrate them on AWS using Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
• Ensure container workloads are scalable, secure, and highly available.

Cloud Operations & Monitoring

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Proactively optimize AWS resources for performance and cost efficiency.

Security & Compliance

• Apply AWS security best practices to safeguard applications and infrastructure.
• Support compliance with industry standards and internal policies.

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Work closely with architects, developers, and stakeholders to deliver effective DevOps solutions.
• Share knowledge and foster a DevOps-first culture within the team.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have Experience:

• 5 + years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with both GCP and AWS.
• Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools and automation practices.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cost optimization in cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with AWS migration tools (e.g., DMS, CloudEndure).
• Exposure to serverless technologies (AWS Lambda).
• Development background in Java, Node.js, or similar languages.
