Platform Engineer (could be with Windows or Linux)

We are looking for platform engineer for a superb product company. Preferably the person should have Windows OR Linux. There are similar independent roles in the Windows and in the Linux department. The below description is mostly Windows focused, but if you are solely with Linux, please apply also.

Responsibilities

Designing, implementing, and optimising our infrastructure estate, including Active Directory, Windows Servers, and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.

Writing software to automate infrastructure and creating flexible self-service technology for thousands of users.

Managing and maintaining reliable systems across our global data centres, ensuring seamless operations for the business.

Building and managing infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud,

Built scripts and tooling using PowerShell or Python

Leading and delivering complex projects with minimal supervision, working closely with business stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Operating at scale, managing petabyte-scale storage and large CPU and GPU deployments.

Contributing to the ongoing development of configuration management and automation practices across the firm.

Required Skills

You should ideally have experience with the following(may not be all):

Expertise working with Active Directory and Windows Server environments.

Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform (or similar tools like Chef, Puppet, or Salt).

Experience in managing and maintaining complex infrastructure estates.

Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, self-starter mindset to take ownership of projects and deliver results with minimal supervision.

Desirable Skills (not obligatory):

Understanding of source control and CI/CD workflows with tools like Git.

Experience administering operating systems such as Linux & Windows, and familiarity with cloud technologies.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Self-organised with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage time across multiple projects.

A desire to learn and understand more about the business environment in which you work.
