Senior/Lead Data Engineer (Databricks, Python, .NET) (7997)

We are looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer with additional Software Engineering expertise to join our team. This role is split between Data Engineering (80%) and Software Engineering (20%), so the ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both domains. You will work on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, while also supporting and migrating an existing .NET codebase into Python (Databricks).

This position requires not only technical expertise but also strong communication skills and the ability to become an active part of an international team.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows in Databricks (PySpark, Python)
• Support and gradually migrate the existing .NET codebase to Python-based solutions
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of data workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption across the team

What You Bring 

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (or Software Engineer with strong data focus)
• Proficiency in Python (including Databricks and PySpark)
• Experience working with .NET applications and readiness to support/migrate existing solutions
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Willingness to learn and dive into new technologies
• Strong communication skills: not only reporting work progress but also engaging in informal team interactions

Nice to have

• Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, or distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Background in software engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, version control)
