The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale, complex Agile projects within an organization. The RTE leads multiple Agile teams (the Agile Release Train or ART) to deliver product features on time and within scope while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate key ART events, such as Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to ensure the ART is aligned with the business strategy and objectives
• Identify and remove any obstacles or bottlenecks that may hinder the progress of teams, ensuring a smooth and effective flow of work
• Actively manage cross-team dependencies and mitigate risks that could affect the delivery of objectives
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by guiding teams through retrospectives and ensuring actionable outcomes
• Help improve the maturity of the ART by coaching teams on Agile practices and principles
• Track and report on ART progress, ensuring transparency and alignment with timelines, milestones, and quality standards
• Act as a liaison between leadership, product management, and development teams, ensuring that all parties are informed of ART progress, issues, and resolutions

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, or in a similar Agile leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks, particularly SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in large-scale Agile transformations is a plus
• Knowledge of continuous delivery, DevOps, and automation practices is advantageous
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., SAFe RTE, Scrum Master, Agile Coach) are a plus
