PostgreSQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our own and our clients’ PostgreSQL databases. This role requires a deep understanding of database management and the ability to ensure the smooth operation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.

• Monitor database performance and ensure optimum performance.

• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations.

• Ensure data integrity and implement security measures.

• Manage database schema and perform database tuning.

• Develop and implement database automation processes.

• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions according the SLA requirements.

• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and performance.

• Manage user access and permissions.

• Stay updated with the latest PostgreSQL features and best practices.

Requirements:

• Proven (3+ years) experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database management and administration.

• Experience with other database systems such as MySQL, MongoDB, Apache Iceberg is an advantage.

• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

• Familiarity with backup, high availability and disaster recovery approaches.

• Understanding of database security and access control.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Fluent communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• EDB Postgres Advanced Certification or similar.

• University degree in the field of IT or any other relevant.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
