Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to lead the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from external sources into our software platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for problem-solving, and experience working with financial data providers. This role is critical in ensuring seamless integration and high data quality, enabling our clients to make informed investment decisions.

Your Responsibilities

• ETL Processes: You will connect to and retrieve data from various external sources, ensuring secure and compliant access methods. Your role involves cleaning, normalizing, and mapping incoming data to align with the platform’s data structure. Additionally, you will optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.
• Technical Ownership: You will act as the primary technical point of contact for data integrations, collaborating with internal teams and external data providers. You will also build reusable integration frameworks to streamline future data onboarding efforts.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: You will monitor the health of data pipelines and promptly address any issues or failures. Continuously improving integration processes for scalability and efficiency is also a key aspect of your role.
• Collaboration: You will work closely with product, engineering, and client service teams to understand data requirements and ensure successful integrations.

Qualifications

• Experience and Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in data manipulation tools and technologies, with experience in Dagster being a plus.
• Proven experience in ETL processes, data integration, or data engineering roles.
• Experience working with APIs, FTP/SFTP, and other data exchange methods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
