As an Engineering Team Lead, you’ll join our growing team to build high-performance, scalable services in an impactful, challenging role. Working on the SportsCore team—where every single sports event DraftKings offers begins—you’ll help shape the future of a rapidly evolving industry. You’ll lead a team of engineers poised for growth and collaborate with colleagues across multiple locations to drive innovative solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AS AN ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD

• Lead a team of up to 7–8 engineers to deliver business-critical features where high quality is a primary expectation.
• Influence the product roadmap in collaboration with product owners and other stakeholders, establishing strong lines of communication.
• Mentor and support team members through career management and feedback, fostering a culture of continuous learning and iterative improvement.
• Establish a safe environment with a transparent and collaborative team culture.
• Challenge engineers to build testable, resilient, highly available, scalable, and innovative systems with proper monitoring in place.
• Implement and maintain software alongside your team members.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 3+ years of experience managing a software engineering team (5+ engineers), with a focus on talent growth and retention.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer, working with C# or Java.
• Expertise in messaging and distributed systems, including event-driven and microservices architectures.
• Strong ability to cultivate and develop engineering talent while optimizing team performance.
• In-depth understanding of the work environment’s impact on engineers, along with experience in training budgets, career development strategies, and resource planning.
