Professional Technical Writer & Terminology Specialist

Join our international Technical Content Services (TCS) team in Sofia as a Professional Technical Writer & Terminology Specialist. In this hybrid role, you will create clear, user-focused technical content for complex software solutions while driving consistency in terminology across all languages.

A job that matters: Your Tasks

• Write and maintain technical documentation for complex software and product solutions, including visuals, ensuring compliance with editorial and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate on UI text standards and oversee validation and translation processes to ensure consistency.
• Assist the TCS team in improving and applying terminology best practices.
• Consolidate legacy terminology into a unified database.
• Assist in the transition to dormakaba’s preferred UI management tool.
• Support initiatives by actively engaging in team meetings and participating in working groups focused on developing guidelines, processes, and tools.
• Drive innovation by introducing new technologies such as AI-assisted term extraction, automated quality checks, and process optimization.

An experience that matters: Your Skills

• Degree, diploma, or certification in Linguistics, Translation, Technical Communication, or a related field.
• Training in terminology management and technical documentation.
• 3+ years of experience in terminology management and technical writing.
• Native or bilingual proficiency in English (C2 required).
• Experience with XML-based Component Content Management Systems (CCMS), preferably SCHEMA ST4.
• Hands-on experience with terminology tools, translation memories, and term extraction.
• Collaborative, structured, and curious approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency in German is an advantage.
• Familiarity with UI validation and translation workflows is an advantage.
• Experience leveraging AI for terminology extraction, validation, or process automation is an advantage.
