Knowledge Engineers are part of an interdisciplinary team that digitizes and maintains product knowledge for our international sales configurators. In this key role, they operate at the interface between product management, sales, IT and production. The aim is to transfer complex product logics into our configurator systems in an efficient, scalable and user-friendly way so that our complex industrial solutions can be configured, priced, offered and ordered easily, quickly and securely.
A job that matters: Your Tasks
Creation and maintenance of simple and complex product solutions that can contain different discrete and configurable materials to support sales and service processes as well as partner business at various customer touchpoints.
Digitization and structuring of product knowledge for use in various configurator solutions (e.g. Java-based sales configurators, LOVC/AVC) development of a “solution finder” for finding feasible products to be combined for complex solutions (guided selling)
Modelling and maintenance of variant logics in classic SAP-based configurators (LOVC/AVC)
Collaboration in the development of modern Java-based sales configurators with a focus on user experience, sales enablement and business rules
Close collaboration with product managers, sales, service, marketing, factories and IT to implement product requirements and sales logic into machine-readable, rule-based structures
Review constantly existing solutions, product and process structures to identify optimization potentials, address with relevant stakeholder and initiate corrective actions
Support international implementation and rollout projects of configurator solutions and actively contribute to project teams to support with testing and quality assurance
Documentation and knowledge transfer within the team and across departments
An experience that matters: Your Skills
2-3 years in a similar position with product and/or solution modelling expertise and knowledge about the usage of product configurators. Basic coding of java or similar language is required. Project/Product management and SAP product modelling (LOVC, AVC) experience is a plus.
Successful accomplished commercial or IT education, ideally with bachelor’s or master’s degree. Additional Project OR Lean management certification is a plus.
