Cloud Architect IaaS and PaaS

The Hybrid Cloud department leads the end-to-end delivery including operational support of hybrid cloud solutions within dormakaba. This comprises globally distributed on-premises data center solutions based on hyper converged systems, outsourced managed datacenter services as well as an increased utilization of cloud-based solutions in Azure and AWS.

To reinforce the team, we are looking for a Technical Expert to support cloud strategy and architecture based on Azure and AWS.

A job that matters: your tasks

• Responsible for the architecture, design, review and validation of the IaaS and PaaS solutions on a global level
• Developing and evolving our cloud architecture and design
• Support the Service Owner in implementing IT strategy
• Providing technical expert support and guidance to the Service Owner to deliver stable and performant IT Services
• Translates complex business requirements into technical and functional requirements and designs solutions to meet the business needs in a cost-effective manner
• Accountable for the alignment of the solution design with the involved internal and external parties, review of the proposals and quotations for the implementation of solutions as well as validating technical solutions delivered for hand-over into operation
• Transition infrastructure projects into globally consistent architectures that are supported by the Operational Experts.
• Key player in global transition, transformation and consolidation projects
• Assess new technologies for an ongoing service improvement
• Consults both business and IT in leveraging cloud solutions for highest efficiency
• Works very close with our DevOps team and supports their strategy
• Evolving our landing zone concept in context of our security requirements
• Develop our cloud solutions in accordance to a 24×7 operations model
• Responsible to provide guidance on how solutions should be designed by identifying the resources (hardware, software, data, and human resources), tools and processes necessary for the development, maintenance and operation of the IT and process solution
• Support Architecture Infrastructure and Processes: Support all activities to promote the continuous development and improvement of infrastructure and ITSM processes, and services through both incremental and innovative technological changes
• Reduce operational effort as well as design and costing work performed by dormakaba staff in favor of managing the Managed Service Providers to deliver support security and risk initiatives

An experience that matters: Your Skills

• 3+ years of experience in IaaS and PaaS solutions based on most popular cloud environments like AWS and Azure
• 3+ years of experience as a solutions architect
• 3+ years of experiences in delivering solutions using 3rd party providers
• 1+ years of experience in migrating server infrastructure from on-premise/Classical Data Centers to the cloud.
• All communications are in English Language. German language skills are nice to have but not required.
• Experience working in a team environment to deliver global projects in a hybrid environment with external partners
• Expertise in Backup solutions, High Availability Designs and Disaster Recovery (Data Center/Cloud Availability zone resiliency). Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recover Time Objectives (RTO)
• Expertise in Operating System (Linux and Windows) patching process and architecture using Azure patch management
• Expertise in server management. Active Directory and control of server access for Operational Experts and Application teams.
• Project management experience or knowledge is preferable e.g. PMP or PRINCE 2.
• Certified I ITIL v3/v4 foundation is preferable.
• Knowledge of IT Information Security Management based ISO 27000 Series is preferable.
• 1+ years Experiences in Agile Methodologies like DevOps, Scrum, SAFe is preferable.
