    Position Overview

    We’re seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server database management, performance tuning, and data replication who will be responsible for maintenance, performance, and integrity of our SQL Server databases in Azure environment.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances. Monitor and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance
    • Configure and monitor MS replication strategies like Always On and Transactional Replication in Azure
    • Identify and resolve performance issues. Provide suggestions to optimize queries, indexes, and database schemas to enhance database performance
    • Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular database backups and restore operations as needed
    • Provide technical support for database-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve database problems in a timely manner
    • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that meet business needs
    • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or Database Engineer
    • Proficient in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
    • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Profiler, and other related tools
    •  Strong understanding of T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers
    • Knowledge of database design, indexing, and query optimization
    • Experience with SQL Server Always On, Replication, and High Availability solutions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

     

    Nice To Have

    • Familiarity with storing Fixed Income data, especially mortgages
    • Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., Snowflake, PostgreSQL)
    • Familiarity with ODBC, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
