    Position Overview

    Our client is developing SaaS revenue management solutions for the hospitality and tourism industry. Among their main services are autonomous pricing systems, forecasts and data visualization, and full-fledged revenue management solutions.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Work on performance, query optimization, DB team support
    • Day-to-day operations of Microsoft SQL Server estate
    • Migrate from SQL to PostgreSQL
    • Consult team on PostgreSQL topics
    • Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, security issues.
    • Provide support and guidance to the development team for database-related tasks
    • Implement automated failover and monitoring mechanisms to minimize downtime and ensure data consistency
    • Ability to analyze and interpret advanced database metrics to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues
    • Establish comprehensive monitoring solutions to track database performance, availability, and resource utilization effectively

     

    Requirements

    • Strong technical SQL DBA experience
    • Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL
    • Significant experience of database upgrades and migrations and the challenges likely to be faced
    • SQL capacity planning
    • DB monitoring, performance management and tuning in MS SQL
    • Deep understanding of server configuration for optimal database performance, including tuning OS settings for database workloads
    • Hands-on experience in working with complex database topologies, including sharding, replication, clustering, and distributed architectures
    • Self-motivated and delivery-focused, creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
    • An ability to plan, prioritize and manage your workload
    • Work independently and think proactively to develop your skills and ideas
    • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve database issues quickly, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
