Junior Full-Stack Developer (Ruby + React)

*This position is fully remote only for employment in Bulgaria. However, people can also work in one of our offices in Sofia or Varna if they prefer to.

As a Junior Full-Stack Developer (Ruby + React), you’ll work on developing and maintaining web applications using Ruby on Rails and React.js. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior developers, contribute to both frontend and backend solutions, and enhance your skills in full-stack development.

• Frontend: React.js, TypeScript, Redux/Zustand, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Tailwind CSS
• Backend: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, REST APIs, GraphQL
• Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, RSpec
• Tools: Git, npm/yarn, WebStorm/VS Code, Chrome DevTools
• CI/CD & Deployment: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS/Heroku

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using React.js and Ruby on Rails
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following company coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate closely with senior developers and designers to implement responsive user interfaces and robust backend solutions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues
• Create and update unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Maintain project documentation and support knowledge-sharing within the team
• Work on backend API development using Ruby on Rails and optionally GraphQL

Requirements

• Solid understanding of React.js fundamentals: components, state management, hooks, context API
• Basic proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript ES6+
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and state management (Redux/Zustand)
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles, and CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS)
• Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails fundamentals, including MVC architecture
• Basic knowledge of database concepts (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and Agile methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn and grow professionally
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
