    About DataArt

DataArt is a global software engineering firm and a trusted technology partner for market leaders and visionaries. Our world-class team designs and engineers data-driven, cloud-native solutions to deliver immediate and enduring business value.

We promote a culture of radical respect, prioritizing your personal well-being as much as your expertise. We stand firmly against prejudice and inequality, valuing each of our employees equally.

We respect the autonomy of others before all else, offering remote, onsite, and hybrid work options. Our Learning and development centers, R&D labs, and mentorship programs encourage professional growth.

Our long-term approach to collaboration with clients and colleagues alike focuses on building partnerships that extend beyond one-off projects. We provide the ability to switch between projects and technology stacks, creating opportunities for exploration through our learning and networking systems to advance your career.

We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced data models, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics solutions to help drive data-driven decision-making within the organization. The domain area is a retail business, so the knowledge in Retail use cases is strongly needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and optimize end-to-end data science workflows and predictive modeling pipelines focused on consumer behavior, demand forecasting, and market research
    • Build and deploy time series models (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, Transformers) for forecasting sales, demand, and inventory levels
    • Apply behavioral segmentation and consumer choice modeling (e.g., logistic regression, latent class models, utility models) to understand and predict consumer actions
    • Design and fine-tune LLMs and NLP pipelines for tasks like sentiment analysis, customer feedback summarization, feature extraction from product reviews, and topic modeling
    • Develop data-driven personas, customer journey analyses, and churn prediction models based on historical and real-time data
    • Translate fuzzy business questions into clear, actionable data science tasks and deliver insights that drive measurable outcomes
    • Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, and engineering teams to align predictive insights with business strategies
    • Build and maintain dashboards and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences using GCP-native and 3rd-party BI tools
    • Ensure model explainability, monitoring, and retraining workflows are in place in production environments

    Requirements

    • Time Series Modeling: Proficiency with ARIMA/SARIMA, Prophet, VAR, LSTM, and multivariate time series models; familiarity with event-driven and calendar-aware models
    • Consumer Behavior & Market Research Models: Understanding of price elasticity, purchase funnel analytics, conjoint/discrete choice models, A/B testing, causal inference
    • Experience in retail
    • LLM/NLP Experience: Hands-on with transformers (Hugging Face, OpenAI API), embeddings (e.g., SBERT), vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS), and classical NLP (spaCy, NLTK)
    • Cloud Proficiency: Strong experience with GCP services – BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions
    • Programming: Advanced Python (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow), SQL; R experience is a plus
    • ML & Statistical Modeling: Deep understanding of regression, classification, clustering, survival analysis, and ensemble methods
    • Data Engineering Awareness: Ability to work with raw data using Airflow, dbt, or Apache Beam; comfortable building ML-ready datasets
    • BI Tools & Data Visualization: Experience with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
    • Experimentation: Familiarity with uplift modeling, causal impact analysis, and multi-touch attribution models
    • Best Practices: Knowledge of MLOps, Git, CI/CD, model versioning, data validation (e.g., Great Expectations), and Agile team workflows
    • Communication & Storytelling: Ability to present data-driven stories to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner
