Who we are looking for
Covantis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Front-End) who loves (and is good at) solving hard yet exciting engineering problems and bringing new products and features to life. If you love being a part of the solution, actively contributing to discoveries, gaining deep understanding of customer needs, analysing intricate details of their business processes and empathising their pains, and ready to shape and implement solutions to those problems, this is a role for you.
What you will do
As a Senior Software Engineer (Front-End) at Covantis, you will work as the member of the Covantis QuickDocs team to develop and improve features that directly address real-life problems in the supply chain operations.
Covantis QuickDocs is an AI-powered early-stage product aimed at simplifying shipping and trade documents verification, accuracy and consistency checking. It’s a game-changer for the industry with the high operational risk where a simple mistake in a document can easily cost you tens of thousands of dollars per day due to delays.
• Work directly with a Product Manager and a Designer to understanding business cases and user needs and shape/design a solution together, consulting the teams Tech Lead when necessary. We expect you to not only decide on how to implement things from the technical perspective, but brainstorm with the PM or the Designer helping decide what the solution to the problem would even be.
• Work with the design team to create user-interfaces that are easy to comprehend, performant and reliable using modern tools: React, Storybook, Tailwind, Jest etc.
• Be involved in all phases of software development life cycle: implementing new features or changes to existing features, writing tests, fixing bugs/defects, deploying to production, responding to incidents etc.
• Participate in design discussions and help others through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Help elevate the front-end skills of the team through technical mentorship both within your direct team and potentially beyond it.
• Occasionally help other teams working on other products if they happen to have a particularly challenging case or a tight deadline.
Hard skill we require
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• 2+ years of experience in developing web apps with React
• Strong experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Familiar with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security and usability.
• Strong advocate for testing, experience with modern testing frameworks and best practices.
• Knowledge of front-end development tools such as pre-processors, task runners, bundlers, etc.
• Experience with CI/CD best practices to build, test and ship your code fast.
