As part of this strategy, Commerzbank continues the expansion of its Digital Technology Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. We need motivated people who will join us on this journey and we are looking for a Technical Business Expert Data Governance in our AI Solutions and Data Isights team.

The AI Solutions & Data Insights cluster is at the forefront of transforming data into actionable insights and driving innovation. By intelligently linking large datasets, optimizing internal processes, and developing cutting-edge data-driven products, the team empowers data scientists, analysts, and developers. The cluster offers a comprehensive suite of data resources, including data warehouses, data platforms, visualization tools, and an all-encompassing data science platform, all integrated into a single, cohesive environment.

As a Technical Business Expert you will play a key role in further developing the bank’s data and data quality management to maximize its value. A core part of your responsibility will be ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements .

Your tasks:

• Playing project-based role in further developing the Data Catalog, enabling the documentation of data flows from Big Data, APIs, and Kafka streams;
• Defining the functional requirements, configurations, and connectors needed to ensure seamless integration and effective documentation;
• Generating more value from our metadata, you will create and analyze evaluations using SQL and Python. You constantly keep the potential applications of AI and large language models (LLMs) in mind, leveraging their capabilities to uncover new insights and opportunities;
• Contributing to integrating and supporting data-related activities at the location. This includes working closely with the data stewards already introduced in Sofia and assisting in further developing their capabilities to enhance local data management;
• As part of an agile team, contributing your qualifications to actively collaborate on our portfolio of tasks. You enjoy expanding and deepening your skills and are motivated to continuously improve your expertise.

Your profile:

• High level of expertise in data management and data modeling, demonstrated through excellent SQL skills and familiarity with other query techniques;
• Strong understanding and analyzing business requirements (actual/target). Gathering and documentation of business requirements and design / devolpment of functional solution / function IT concept;
• Strong ability to understand and advise business as well as IT regarding best technical / functional solution or set-up of the application.
• Good programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or similar) are highly valued and a strong plus;
• Proven experience in managing complex cooperation projects with internal and external stakeholders;
• High interest and willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new requirements and gather – per case – the needed technical understanding;
• Proficiency in agile working methodologies, as well as expertise in using common presentation and conceptualization tools;
• Strong analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills;
• Fluency in English – both written and spoken;
• University degree in Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc. or relevant.
