As part of this strategy, Commerzbank continues the expansion of its Digital Technology Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. We need motivated people who will join us on this journey and we are looking for a Cloud Platfor Engineer in our Big Data team.

The Big Data Cluster Team is at the cutting edge of creating the essential infrastructure needed for artificial intelligence at Commerzbank. By enabling data scientists, analysts and developers, the team offers a wide range of data resources, such as data warehouses, data platforms, visualization platforms, and an all-encompassing data science platform—all in a single location.

Your tasks:

• Working within a task-oriented and test-driven team to implement cloud-native solutions and frameworks for our self-service data product platform and data science platform;
• Supporting the development of our self-service platform SDK for data product management and data science and operation on Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure;
• Collaborating with data scientists, ML experts, and data engineers to enable data-driven use cases and promote platform adoption;
• Creating software solutions that enable hybrid data processing in multi-cloud environments;
• Supporting the migration of existing on-premises workloads to cloud-native solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments;
• Integrating security standards, policies, and controls into our service offerings;
• Evaluating and integrating open-source solutions into our service cloud service portfolio.

Your profile:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Solutions Engineer, or similar, working with GCP and/or Microsoft Azure (solid experience with AWS would also be an option) and their data services;
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, automation, scripting and testing best practices;
• Hands-on experience in working with Kubernetes/Docker, Terraform as well as data processing frameworks and tools such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow;
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering secure, client-oriented solutions;
• Customer-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality results;
• Good collaboration and communication skills;
• Good analytic thinking with attention to details to solve problems;
• Fluency in English – both written and spoken;
• University degree in IT or relevant.
