As part of this strategy, Commerzbank continues the expansion of its Digital Technology Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. We need motivated people who will join us on this journey and we are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in our FlexHub team.

The Cluster FlexHub supports all clusters within Delivery Organization of Commerzbank with skilled personel, teams and IT services for strategic initiatives bringing innovation to products. We work in the Cluster in an agile structure, in which the teams work independently and flexibly on their tasks. Each team assumes responsibility for the product in the application and context environment from start to finish, from business analysis to software development to operation. The teams use agile working methods for their organization to deliver products to customers faster and more efficiently.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based capabilities to support business applications in an investment bank. The role involves working closely with software developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure robust, scalable, and secure, cloud-based technology solutions.

Your tasks:

• Designing, developing, managing and implementing cloud-based platforms, infrastructure and capabilities to support business applications (Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and relevant technologies – ideally open source).
• Designing cloud platforms with security in mind, including implementing access control and data protection strategies.
• Providing technical guidance to IT teams and stakeholders on cloud-based systems and services.
• Driving up developer experience, enhancing ability to provision, configure, and deploy applications within cloud platforms.
• Supporting application development teams to manage and optimize cloud resources to ensure high performance.
• Optimizing cloud costs while maintaining performance and security.
• Supporting the automations of cloud operations using infrastructure-as-code and cloud native tooling.
• Implementing automation and DevSecOps practices for efficient cloud operations in a Microsoft Azure or GCP infrastructure and application implementation context.
• Providing capabilities for IT support and operations teams to monitor cloud systems, ensure uptime, and respond to incidents and outages promptly. Provide training where required.
• Documenting processes and procedures related to cloud platforms.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Staying updated with emerging cloud technologies and best practices and integrate them into current systems and processes.
• Supporting incident resolution and bug fixing, working with application development and operations teams.
• Working in an agile team setup, meaning the team includes business domain colleagues, business analysts, developers and application operation experts.
• Participating in scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Review, Retrospectives) remotely, or in person.

Your profile:

• Strong understanding of cloud architectures, services, and best practices, for OpenShift, Azure, GCP.
• Experience in deploying and optimizing Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments. Ability to manage operators, CRDs and advanced resources within Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in the use of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Kustomize, Terraform or Ansible.
• Core competency in networking, both for cloud and on-premise implementations.
• Proficiency in cloud-native IAM solutions and secrets management platforms. Knowledge of Information Security protocols, tools, best practices, including TLS/certificates, OAuth2, and cryptographic best practices.
• Broad experience with Linux OS and Linux commands, including scripting and programming skills in Bash, Python or other higher-level scripting languages.
• Experience in deploying/configuring messaging-oriented middleware (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ) on cloud-hosting platforms.
• Solid knowledge of software integration, testing and release on cloud platforms using GitOps with technologies such as TeamCity, Tekton and ArgoCD.
• Experience working with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
• Good expertise in configuring and deploying cloud-hosted DBMS, e.g. Azure PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, GCP BigQuery, etc.
