As part of this strategy, Commerzbank continues the expansion of its Digital Technology Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. We need motivated people who will join us on this journey and we are looking for a Application Operations Engineer in our Accounts and Deposits team.

This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies in a dynamic international environment—with a clear development path to further evolve your DevOps skill.

Your tasks:

• Analyzing and resolving complex issues across applications and infrastructure layers.
• Managing and coordinating deployments and changes in Pre-Production and Production environments.
• Maintaining and enhancing monitoring and alerting for business-critical applications.
• Leveraging modern observability tools and introducing AI-driven features to improve incident detection and resolution.
• Optimizing and extending Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in collaboration with development teams.
• Supporting and gradually taking ownership of OpenShift platform-related tasks (e.g., Helm chart deployments, container lifecycle).
• Following ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management) while adhering to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Building and sharing expertise in supported applications and participating in the implementation of new functionalities.
• Gaining a deep understanding of Commerzbank’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) mechanisms and security controls.

Your profile:

• Solid experience in Application Operations, DevOps, or Production Support roles.
• Strong analytical mindset and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of Linux-based systems and scripting (Bash or similar).
• Experience with container orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
• Basic hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
• Understanding of ITIL processes; certifications are a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow into a DevOps-focused role.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in an international team.
• Proficiency in English.
