Position Description:


We’re seeking a Computer Vision / Machine Learning Engineer to join us at a pivotal moment. Our system is already up and running and is nearing MVP status. Your primary mission will be to improve model performance, help prepare the product for real-world scaling, and contribute to new feature development.

This is also a key strategic hire as we begin to build an in-house technical team. You’ll work closely with the founder and backend team to turn our strong prototype into a robust, production-grade solution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize and improve existing ML models used for image and video processing
• Implement efficient inference pipelines for deployment on Nvidia Jetson devices
• Use TensorRT to convert and optimize models for edge deployment
• Develop Python-based microservices/APIs that expose ML capabilities
• Work with the backend team to ensure seamless integration and data flow
• Monitor, evaluate, and tune model accuracy, latency, and resource consumption
• Help define the roadmap for future features and ML capabilities
• Create documentation and development notes to support internal knowledge transfer

Core Technologies – some of the models may change to improve accuracy or memory consumption.

• Python-based ML models with PyTorch/TensorFlow
• MobileNetV3 architecture for image classification
• MMAction2 framework for video understanding
• TensorRT optimization for edge deployment

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python with experience in production-level code
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Strong background in computer vision and video analytics
• Experience with model optimization for edge (TensorRT or similar)
• Familiarity with Jetson hardware and associated development tools
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and service-oriented ML integration
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote setting

Nice to Have:

• Experience deploying ML models in consumer products or IoT environments
• Prior work on smart home, healthtech, or elder care technology
• Familiarity with real-time systems or streaming data pipelines
• Interest in long-term product ownership and helping build a mission-driven team
