What will you be working on?

You’ll oversee the architecture, management, and delivery of data pipelines, integrations, and access systems across multiple platforms and teams. Your work will ensure that FIT teams can consume data efficiently, securely, and compliantly, while reducing operational overhead for platform teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Centralizing and managing access to datasets for FIT teams
• Integrating multiple data sources and streamlining data provisioning workflows
• Building and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable data pipelines
• Monitoring pipeline health, troubleshooting issues, and providing support to internal teams
• Ensuring compliance with security standards and data governance policies
• Collaborating with teams to understand data needs and translate them into robust engineering solutions

Your Role

Your role will focus on technical leadership and strategic ownership of the data platform:

• Define and enforce best practices for data engineering and data access across teams
• Lead the architecture and implementation of pipelines, integrations, and data access workflows
• Provide mentorship and guidance to data engineers and cross-functional teams
• Oversee troubleshooting, incident resolution, and operational support for data systems
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and governance policies
• Act as a trusted advisor to FIT teams and leadership, balancing access, reliability, and security

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform management, or similar roles
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, and orchestration tools
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance
• Experience troubleshooting pipelines and providing operational support
• Ability to define and implement best practices and standards for data access
• Experience supporting multiple teams or business units in a centralized data platform
• Experience with streaming and batch data pipelines
• Familiarity with analytics and BI tooling
• Prior leadership or director-level experience in data engineering

What does the interview process look like?

Initial Interview: A 45-minute cultural and technical interview with two Camplight team members to assess experience, leadership, and approach to data platform strategy.

Technical Deep Dive (choose one):

• Homework Assignment: A data engineering exercise (~2 hours) followed by a 1-hour discussion.
• Architecture / Operational Session: A 2-hour session focused on data pipelines, integration patterns, access management, and troubleshooting scenarios.
