Experienced Back-end Software Engineer

Role summary:

As a Software Engineer, your contribution will be instrumental in their team’s mission to create and maintain an event-based distributed micro-service-oriented software environment that has a profound impact on millions of clients across diverse European markets. Leveraging your expertise, you will play a pivotal role in planning and developing this cutting-edge infrastructure, revolutionizing the way their clients interact with the services. Main duties:

• Participate in designing, development and testing phases of event-based distributed micro-service-oriented software products.
• Improves code structure and architecture in service of testability and maintainability.
• Works with their team and adjacent teams to solve problems. Escalates problems that have a broader scope.

What to bring:

• 5+ years of experience with PHP and Node.js.
• Experience with Yii and/or Laravel and Symfony.
• Strong experience in OOP.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ / Kafka).
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• A clear understanding of architectural patterns and best coding practices.
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills in both Bulgarian and English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Experience with caching (Redis, MemCached, OpCache).
• Experience with high-traffic web applications.
• Working knowledge of Docker and containerization concepts.
• Experience with Python or GO.
• Experience with unit testing.
• Understanding of CI/CD principles.
• Understanding and using Scrum practices.
