Senior Cloud Engineer

About the job

You will join a new team starting up in Sofia in 2025, part of Axway’s Managed Cloud Operations organization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution for cloud-based systems.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and backup management.
• Maintain and manage Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.
• Collaborate directly with customers to assess implementations, gather requirements, and deliver tailored recommendations
• Collaborate with product development, support and security teams to enhance security, compliance, and best practices.
• Create and maintain documentation for cloud environments and processes.
• Participate in after-hours support (on call) and scheduled implementation activities as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT with similar responsibilities
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with a positive and solutions-focused mindset
• Deep knowledge of cloud, on-prem, and hybrid solutions architecture, deployment, and maintenance
• Ability to solve complex and non-routine problems efficiently with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work effectively with global teams across NA, EMEA, and APAC time zones
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent

Technical Skills

• Cloud Platforms: Expertise in AWS and Azure services, including EC2, EBS, S3, EKS, Route 53, IAM, Load Balancers, ACM, VPN, VPC, Private Link, Transit Gateway, WAF, RDS, Systems Manager, Billing, Trusted Advisor, SSO, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Backup, and Lambda.
• Containers & Orchestration: Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), Helm, and containerization best practices.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible for automated provisioning and configuration management.
• Scripting & Automation: Skills in Bash, PowerShell, and Python for automation and system management.
• Networking & Connectivity: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, PESIT, HTTPS, AS2, routing, firewalls, proxies (forward/reverse), HAProxy, and NAS.
• Databases: Experience working with both RDBMS and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Security & Identity Management: Familiarity with PKI, SSO, LDAP, SAML, OpenID, MFA, and OAuth for secure authentication and access control.
• Messaging & Integration: Knowledge of SOAP, REST, SOA, MQ, and Tibco for application communication and integration.
• Service Management Tools: Experience with platforms like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Jira for IT service and incident management.
