SofiaMarine is part of the AXSMarine group – a leading provider of specialized maritime web-based software with presence in France, Bulgaria, UK, Greece, Singapore, USA, UAE and Germany. As a product company, we have over 18 000 users, essentially shipbrokers, operators, owners, charterers, research firms and financial institutions. AXSMarine provides chartering solutions for all shipping business segments – Dry Bulk, Tanker, Gas and Liner.

Our office in Sofia was opened in 2011 and since then the whole IT, Data and Business teams are located here. Our team is constantly growing and we want to reinforce our global positioning. We are therefore now looking to hire a person to endorse the role of:

PRODUCT UI/UX DESIGNER

THE ROLE

We are looking for a user experience designer with strong interests and capabilities in the design and development of engaging user experiences, passionate and keen-to-learn self-starter.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction in a fast-paced environment, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing analytical and creative ideas to a design engagement.

The person in this position is expected to become a fully integrated team member working on ongoing projects through the entire process from initial workshops and research to conception, design and implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Executing interaction design and visual design as part of a cross-functional team and work closely with other team members and stakeholders
• Follow established design team practices and processes, while identifying and recommending areas for improvement
• Realizing detailed animated sets of mockups based on general guidance
• Researching interaction design trends & technology trends
• Provide useful design documentation for the projects
• Meet daily challenges with a positive attitude and help to ensure that we continuously improve the experience of our users

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of professional experience for complex software, Web applications and/or mobile devices
• Strong conceptualization and visual communication ability
• A sense of quality and eye for detail
• Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, driven by group feedback and communication with all stakeholders
• Experience in agile product development
• Ability to create wireframes as well as visual design comps
• Strong working knowledge of Sketch (or Figma), Marvel, and associated design tools
• Strong working knowledge of HTML5, CSS and LESS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Understanding of common software project management and development practices
• Portfolio to accompany your resume
