Experta Ltd was established in 1997 in the city of Veliko Tarnovo. Its founders are two former classmates from the city's mathematical high school. The company's first software products were Top95 (business directory), ElVis(electronic business card catalog), Jurita (collection of laws) and BuzCal (calendar of business events). The company publishes successively the magazines "Business Software" and "Download.BG". Since 2003, its activities have focused on the web-based business management system, bgERP. Since 2010 the system has been licensed under GPLv3.
