Employees are given the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis. Each month they should work in the GATE Institute building at least 60% of the working time and can work remotely during the rest.

The GATE Institute - Big Data for a Smart Society - is the first high-tech centre of excellence for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe. The Institute focuses on applied research and innovation. It was established in 2019 as a research institute of Sofia University in partnership with Chalmers University of Technology and Chalmers Industrial Technologies, Sweden - European leaders in research and innovation in the field and leading in strategic initiatives such as AI Sweden, AI Research Centre, AI Innovation of Sweden and Digital Twin Cities.
The Institute is creating a unique environment and infrastructure for applied research in cutting-edge technology areas - Big Data and Artificial Intelligence and to become a globally competitive digital hub for innovation and its application to solve global problems in the fields of Future Cities, Digital Health, Smart Industry, Smart Government.
