3db was founded as a startup company by the Higher Technical Institute in Zurich and continues to reinvent itself in new chip generations, each chip being like a new startup. The founders are a Bulgarian and a Swiss who combine their knowledge of wireless security with microelectronics. Interestingly, the first product enters the market at the end of 2019 after a full 8 years of development to reach automotive quality certified (AEC-Q100). It is currently used very successfully in several Volkswagen and Mercedes brands. The technical team consists of 5 nationalities and 30% women.
