ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to join one of our long-term international partners in the fintech industry. You will manage, maintain, and optimize large-scale relational databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. You’ll collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and security teams to support both development and production environments while introducing improvements to database scalability and operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, maintain, and optimize large-scale relational databases with a focus on PostgreSQL
Design and implement high-availability solutions including replication, clustering, and failover
Lead database upgrades, migrations, and schema evolution across environments
Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, analyze execution plans, and tune complex queries
Automate operational tasks through scripting (PL/pgSQL, PowerShell, Bash)
Define and enforce backup, recovery, and disaster recovery best practices
Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and security teams to ensure operations align with architecture and compliance
Introduce modernization efforts and innovations to improve database scalability and performance
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of hands-on experience managing SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL in production
Strong knowledge of database internals, query optimization, indexing, and storage engines
Experience administering high availability, load balancing, and replication instances
Proven experience in data archiving, retention, and partitioning large tables
Experience managing databases in self-hosted or cloud platforms
Proficiency in performance monitoring and diagnostics tools (Grafana, Prometheus, pg_stat_statements)
Strong scripting and automation skills
ADVANTAGES
