Job Description:
We are looking for a Scrum Master, to join one of our biggest teams working on a remote diagnostics application. This role is responsible for the smooth operation of Agile/Scrum team processes and activities. This includes organizing and facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team sizing sessions, backlog grooming sessions, and end-of-sprint ceremonies as well as creating dashboards & reports to show team productivity and velocity. The Scrum Master serves as the impediment remover and Agile coach/guide for the team.
Essential Functions:
Coach the scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices, disciplines, and values to be a consistent, effective, and productive team;
Build a trusted and safe environment within the team and coach team members to work effectively through self-organization, accountability, and driving team ownership of building successful software releases;
Work closely with the Project Manager, Product Owners, Tech Leads, Architects, and stakeholders to understand the product strategy, vision, and priorities to ensure development delivery is aligned and to ensure backlog items have clear and concise acceptance criteria to ensure as-expected results for each sprint deliverable;
Facilitate backlog grooming with Product Owners, Architects, BAs and development teams to ensure the priorities, understanding, and dependencies are understood prior to sprint planning;
Drive sprint planning to ensure Agile/Scrum teams are set for success in their commitments;
Drive continuous improvement through facilitating retrospectives and owning action plans;
Create dashboard and reports that provide consistency and productivity metrics and can provide teams and the organization with relevant product delivery status;
Guide team members in their career development, giving them regular feedback and helping them achieve their goals.
Essential Skills:
3+ years of Agile, Scrum, project management or related experience with a software development team that applied Scrum principles, practices, and principles;
Scrum Master certification;
Requires deep understanding of patterns and techniques in managing Sprint ceremonies, handling of bugs/defects, and variations of leading product development teams;
Excellent understanding of Agile, Scrum methods;
Excellent working knowledge of Agile tools (e.g. JIRA);
Experience using collaboration tools (Miro etc) will be considered as an advantage;
Extensive experience coaching team members in the Agile, Scrum mindset and practices;
Demonstrates ability to understand complex technical and business problems to effectively remove team impediments, mitigate project risk and deliver successful outcomes;
Excellent understanding of SDLC;
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills;
A technical background is preferred but not required;
A true team player.
